Update from Propagation

Loma Vista propagation is working furiously to meet our propagation plan despite the shortened season; as you might remember we were still having night-time temperatures in the low 30's in late May.  We started the season with tree and grass seeds and will end it with hardwood cuttings of Juniper and Chamaecyparis.

Calamagrostis Karl Foerster

In the meantime, we divided grasses and planted unrooted cuttings for next spring's perennial crop and propagated much of the nursery's 2016 crop of shrubs.

Bloom A Thon Azaleas

I am ordering seeds for the 2015 tree seedling crop which includes many of the oaks, white pine, redbud, catalpa and populus.

PInus strobus seedling

One of my fondest early memories from this exciting year was watching the emergence of white pine seedlings.

Many thanks to our great Loma Vista propagation team!

We would love show you Loma Vista's container farm in person.  Please contact your sales representative or send an email to sales@lomavistanursery.com to make arrangements for a tour.
